I always have been wondering about homeschooling, even though if I live at a place with a school at hand, I have thought about homeschooling my children at least until age 7, because of the 7 first years are the most important to develope the character.

My question is: what about accreditation? Are all of this curriculum accredited or how is the process? Are children that have been home schooled able to go to any university without a problem or just it’s accepted by our SDA institutions? Could you give more light about it?
    Blessings and thank you.

  2. Hello Noe,
Thank you for commenting on our blog.

Many countries are accepting the idea of homeschooling children. The US has always taken the lead on making homeschooling available for those who chose to homeschool therefore, has more homeschool programs that are accredited.
In other places, you can be given the accreditacion by a local school providing that your child follows their curriculum and testing.

Depending on the regulations of your home country, a child would not need homeschool accreditation for kindergarten and first grade as long as he is able to do a placement test to enroll in school.

There are many places where the education system only requires a proficiency test in order to place students in high school or even college.
My daughters took an accredited homeschool program through highschool and were able to enter college without any problems. I have friends whose children didn’t take an accredited high school diploma but had to take high school equivalency diploma before entering college.

You need to find out what the requirements are in your own country, and if you decide that you need/want the accreditation, look for a program that offers it.

    I hope this helps.

Blessings to you as you take this important and wonderful opportunity!
